Rest In Peace

The death of a loved one can be taken two ways in my opinion. You can take it as a curse or as a blessing. I don’t think we really understand the term “rest in peace”. If you believe in a higher power and a place beyond Earth, then you know that your loved one will be in a better place. Now I know that sounds cliché and you don’t want to hear that at that time, but if you really take a step back you will realize that Earth is full of pain & grief while heaven, or whatever you believe in, is paradise. If you loved them why wouldn’t you want them to go to paradise?? When they leave us to go “home” we become selfish in our own way complaining they should not have left “US”, why did God take them from “US”. What about them? They finally, after the pain they encountered for however many days, weeks or years, get to go “HOME”! So they can finally rest in peace.

The sky cried when God took you away,
Rest in peace is all the world could say.
When you left the rain felt like a new beginning,
But at the same time if felt like a horrible ending.
The wind took your ashes into the sky,
While the thunder sang Earth’s last good-bye.
The world lost, yet heaven gained an angel,
Now you can sit with God at the dinner table.
Make sure you put your napkin over your lap before you eat,
And don’t forget to wash your hands before you take a seat.
I’m not sad your gone because you deserved a better place,
However I’m holding back tears to save face.
You always said life was hard and death would be easy,
But I’m all grown up now and I just wish you could see me.
I remember like yesterday when you died,
The sky smiled and the clouds cried.
They were not tears of grief or sorrow,
They were the tears I wish I could borrow.
The trees danced as your ashes glided in the air,
The flowers watched in awe as your ashes floated without a care.
God wanted you to come “HOME”,
Rest In Peace…Its where you belong.
